Operational / Non-Financial Risk Manager

We are looking for an Operational / Non-financial Risk Manager to join our Legal Risk & Compliance (“LRC”) team to further enhance our Risk Team. You will be part of the LRC team reporting to the Group Director Risk & General Counsel. You will work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Risk & Compliance Manager and other legal, compliance, and risk professionals within the LRC team and with other business units and stakeholders within Loyens & Loeff to integrate operational / non-financial risk management practices into all the firm’s daily operations.

As an Operational / Non-financial Risk Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective (operational & information security) risk management practices within our firm.

Your responsibilities as an Operational / Non-financial Risk Manager:

  • Risk Framework Development: Jointly with the Group Director Risk & General Counsel develop, implement and maintain Loyens & Loeff’s Risk Management Framework including relevant policies and procedures. Ensure alignment of such policies and procedures with best practices and regulatory requirements;

  • Risk Identification and Assessment: Jointly with the relevant stakeholders organize risk (self)-assessments to identify, assess and manage operational / non-financial risks that may impact Loyens & Loeff’s operations;

  • Risk Mitigation Strategies: Develop and recommend risk mitigation strategies to manage the impact of operational / non-financial risks and facilitate, support and render advice to Loyens & Loeff stakeholders (Board, partners, directors, associates, staff);

  • Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor and analyze operational / non-financial risk indicators. Prepare and provide regular reporting to Board or other stakeholders on risk status, risk obligations and mitigating actions;

  • Incident Management: Jointly with Loyens & Loeff stakeholders, ensure that incidents related to operational / non-financial risk (i) are properly captured and handled, (ii) assessed as to the cause of such incidents, (iii) result in mitigating actions, and, where required, (iv) are properly reported to the Board, Incident Management Crisis Team (ICMT) or other stakeholders;

  • Risk Culture Promotion: Foster a risk-awareness culture within Loyens & Loeff. Provide training and awareness sessions to everyone within Loyens & Loeff on operational / non- financial risk management;

  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards related to operational / non-financial risks.

  • you hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a risk, control, audit, policy management or comparable function preferably in a financial institution, international corporate or professional service provider environment;

  • you have thorough knowledge of and affinity with scoping & controls, implementing of risk management policies and procedures, including risk self-assessments;

  • you have excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English;

  • you are pragmatic and are able to set and achieve realistic goals;

  • you have strong analytical skills, can communicate in a structured way and are able to convince others when required;

  • you are able to work both pro-actively on your own but also as a team player to achieve the goals set.
     

Your workplace as Operational / Non-financial Risk Manager:

Loyens & Loeff has a dedicated Legal, Risk & Compliance department (“LRC”) which supports the required legal, (operational & information security) risk and compliance processes throughout the firm. LRC fulfils this role with a risk-based approach by developing and maintaining frameworks and policies. LRC has extensive topic-specific guidance available and the team provides solution-driven advice on legal, risk and compliance matters, whilst continuously raising awareness across the firm.
